Next week on Felt & Wire, 50 limited edition notebooks will be for sale with 100% of the proceeds going to Design Ignites Change to support their School: by Design youth mentorship program. Twenty-five letterpress printers created the notebooks, with Mohawk donating Loop paper.
School: by Design is a youth mentoring initiative that asks high school students–in collaboration with their college or professional design mentors–to redesign their school. A $10,000 award will be granted to the high school with the most innovative project to implement their idea. The program was created to give youth in under-served communities a real world experience using design thinking to communicate their ideas, exhibit their potential and take action in their own lives. {via the school: by design website}
The notebooks will be available on Wednesday, so keep an eye out!

Liking this unique reconstitution/use of books by Jeremy May.
Made out of books by laminating hundreds sheets of paper together, the paper is selected and carefully removed from a book, and the jewellery re-inserted in the excavated space. Each piece is impossible to replicate, and is unique to the wearer.

Danish artist MIKKEL S.ANDERSEN is probably crazy but I don’t care because he is creative. His universe is compelling and disturbing; innocent everyday objects are arranged in bizarre settings evoking joy, misery, humour, sarcasm, playfulness and bitterness.
I really dig his big homage to the six-pack canned beer as an aesthetically masterly object.
